    Exciting Times!

Yesterday was an exciting day for me!  I went to see a midnight showing of Prince Caspian, and when I came back to the room, I discovered that "Timmy and those" had forced a game 7 with the New Orleans Hornets.  I also just had a cup of coffeeCoffee cup so I really can barely keep still to type this up.  Oh the joy!  God is so great!  I have also gotten over the stuffy congestion that I've had for the last two weeks!  Yea! Party

How did I feel about the new Narnia film?  Well, being a Narnian myself (Open-mouthed!), I was a bit disappointed with the straying away from the original story.  Some of these deviations I considered understandable, especially since Caspian may be the slowest of the seven books.  I mean, filmmakers have to move it along at a quicker pace for viewers.  However, I also found several changes to be inexcusable.  Particularly, the High King Peter’s un-kingly like conduct in the railway station and in his confrontations with Caspian.  Peter wasn’t quarrelsome or easily provoked into physical violence like the new movie portrayed.  Obviously, they wanted to play up William Moseley and Anna Popplewell‘s roles since we won’t be seeing them in a while, and made them a little more conformed to the character of typical young people today.  My other main bicker with the film was Susan’s flirtation with Caspian—did it have to end with a kiss!  How un-kosher!  It totally doesn’t become either one of these royals to be behaving in such undignified fashion…especially since Caspian later goes on to marry, and Susan has her own problems.  They never meet again.  Gross!  What would Rilian think?  And strangely enough, Aslan never scolded the children for any of this behaviour.

Anyway, I'm still very hopeful for Dawn Treader, which has so much going on, I don't think there's much need for creating wandering fillers.
