    A Crucial Time

Please join me in prayer for the future of the United States, that truth will be revealed, that righteousness will prevail, and that God's will be done.  My family and I are coming together for a time of prayer and fasting leading up to the Election.  I would like to encourage all Believers to do the same at what ever level you can.  It's time for us to take a stand for God and for His righteousness.  May God bless America and may He bless you.

Please take a look at this Voter Issue Guide.

    Serious thoughts on serious issues.

From someone who has inspired so many of us, this recent newsletter from Dr. Dobson shares some insights on the present condition of the U.S.  Few people have done more to encourage, strengthen, and build strong, loving families.  His thoughts matter to me, and I hope that you will take a serious look at them too.  It's well worth the time.

    Better together!

I've been saying for years how troubling segregation in churches is to me.  It's the plan of the enemy to divide us.  I was encouraged to read from someone else who agrees and is doing what they can to fight that kind of behaviour!  Please check out this article at ChristianityToday.com.

    What are the fruits?

I received an interesting email this week, that read:
I've not decided on who I will vote for yet.  But, I see the Republicans use morals as just a way to obtain votes and then don't backup it up with actions.
    Here's my response:
Republicans are using morals to obtain votes?...I think the Democrats should work harder then on using morals to obtain votes...because, right now they sure aren't securing my vote, as a ChristianMorals, virtue, righteousness, ethics all matter more to me than any of the other issues in the campaigns.  I think they should for all children of God--He calls us to righteousness, just as He Himself is righteous (if we wanted to be identified with Him).  When Israel obeyed God (and that was a country with some very strict morals set by God), He blessed and prospered them--and all the other countries knew about it too.  When they turned from God, and started participating in idol worship and sexual immorality (amongst other sins)...what happened?  Destruction and captivity.  Is that what we want for the U.S.?  Allow leaders who promote and honour homosexuality, killing unborn babies, and cloning (disrespect for God the Creator) to come to power...we'd be asking for trouble.
My friend also mentioned concern about not knowing who the "wolf in sheep's clothing" may be.  Let's take a look at Matthew 7:13-29, shall we?
Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.

Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.  Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles?  Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit.  A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit.  Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire.  Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them.

Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.  Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?  And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.

Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock: And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock.  And every one that heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them not, shall be likened unto a foolish man, which built his house upon the sand: And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell: and great was the fall of it.

And it came to pass, when Jesus had ended these sayings, the people were astonished at his doctrine: For he taught them as one having authority, and not as the scribes.  (KJV)
