    With respectful thanks

As I say "good night" to this busy Monday, I thoughtfully remember two of my most endearing heroes.  Two outstanding gifts from God to humankind.  A couple of brave, courageous, and honourable men who stood up for justice and what is right.  Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. is one of the most significant, sincere, and passionate fighters for human dignity, equality, and respect.  I believe Dr. King was God-inspired to combat racial discrimination and encourage a spirit of love, family, and unity among all people.  I would also like to say "thank you" to President George W. Bush, as he passes the batton later today to our new president.  President Bush truly defines courage by taking action when violent terrorists struck the United States on our soil, facing chaos with strong wisdom and resolve, and giving us a national leader to respect and admire, who never shamed us with scandal, a man of integrity and character to the very end of his second term.  God blessed us by giving us such exceptional, upright men as role models.  So with respectful thanks to Dr. King, President Bush, and to Almighty God, I wish you God's best for this new year and encourage you to say "thanks" everyday to God for all His provision and for those inspiring people who remind us to stand up for righteousness and truth.  God bless.

"I was glad when they said unto me, Let us go into the house of the LORD.  Our feet shall stand within thy gates, O Jerusalem.  Jerusalem is builded as a city that is compact together:  Whither the tribes go up, the tribes of the LORD, unto the testimony of Israel, to give thanks unto the name of the LORD.  For there are set thrones of judgment, the thrones of the house of David.  Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: they shall prosper that love thee.  Peace be within thy walls, and prosperity within thy palaces.  For my brethren and companions' sakes, I will now say, Peace be within thee.  Because of the house of the LORD our God I will seek thy good." Psalm 122 KJV
